"...mas manifestations!"
Okay so Sabado was a big "gay" demonstration on the street... and I think it is safe to figure all of their politically held office boyfriends were watching safely from their office windows. Not to be outdone by the gays... whoever had nothing to do on Domingo joined in one of the biggest manifestations of the years so far - protesting against the violent crimes and kidnappings that are a way of life in Mexico City... and guess what!? it is only going to get worse with summer and touristas arriving. So beware travelers to Mexico City, dress as poor looking as possible and don´t wear any flashy watches or jewelry - if you do, you are just asking to be beaten, kidnapped and possibly killed.

So here is a great foto of hundreds of thousands of people with nothing better to do yesterday, and because of the politics of life in Mexico (come on people... how long have you lived here!!?) nothing will ever become of their views or opinions - made a nice frontpage foto though.

"Huge storm last night..."
Wow, took us 5 hours to get home from Mexico City last night (usually takes 2 hours), small towns on the outskirts of Ciudad Mexico were flooded and traffic was insane! Took 3 hours just to get from the Zocalo to the edge of town!

On a happy note (for all the Colorado water lovers out there) ....Coors light is coming to Mexico, it is the same color as Mexico´s tap water so don´t be fooled by pirata copies of this light brew - now if somebody would only import real beer to Mexico - like Newcastle Ale!

"¿Mexico´s Guitar God A Racist?"
..... Carlos Santana spilled a few stupidities, but we gotta remember... he´s an old man now. Don´t get me wrong, I love Carlos´music (up until these past couple of albums when he turned to that Tito Puente of the guitar realm crap) I have every album (some pirata) and have seen him "live" 6 times! BUT, I know he has been turning grandpa lately... and unfortunately Grandpa Carlos was on brain-fry... (yes, when he said it he was talking about Ozzy, but it turned into an everybody white slam) Carlos we are all racist in some way, just some of us don´t open our mouths and let the entire world know!

From one of the "corny-ass white people"... and ex-Santana fan/collector.

"Manifestations"
........who is behind these manifestations (demonstrations) that go on every week in Mexico City, blocking traffic and access for millions of people trying to work or just get somewhere? Most of these demonstrators are bused in by somebody, they don´t have the knowledge behind them to even comprehend what they are really demonstrating about. And mexico appeases these manifestations while extremely inconveniencing the rest of us who have lives.

Today´s point - the dairy farmer manifestation in front of the US Embassy... yes they are being used, no they don´t get anywhere close to as much as their US counterparts get. BUT, their reasoning (threat) of moving their dairy businesses north (to the US?) is a pipedream! Do they honestly think that the US will allow their cattle in without testing or quarantining for months, let alone let the dairy farmers immigrant - come on! Who is behind these manifestions? ...it is a nuisance, and the perpetrators are winning!

"Hecho en Mexico"
...US Customs Officers thought it was a joke (at first) when they got their new supply of uniforms this last week - but, unfortunately no joke! The uniforms say made in Mexico... needless to say this is not going over well with most of the US Customs officers.

So beware of the US Customs man in his bright and shiny new uniform, he or she may have a slight chip on their shoulder when they inspect your person or car, amigo...

"Who is getting the better deal here?"
...have you heard the Russians were here in Mexico City earlier this week - yep, Putin and his gang. Now Russia and Mexico plan on doing some big business. Mexico is going to build helicopters for Russia, and the Russians are going to help develop natural gas refineries in Baja California. My only comment...... have you ever seen the Mexican military´s helicopters? The one´s with UFO-vision? Soooooo, who is getting the (safe) deal here...?

"Another sympathetic try by Mexico"
...more pathetic than sympathy, actually. For 100 days the government is going to put troops in the forests of Michoacan (and other places) to try and stop the illegal foresting of the trees - which are almost gone already. The home to hundreds of thousands of Monarch butterflies has been totally devastated. The local residents try to block the illegal loggers by digging trenches in the roads, but just like most Mexican cover-ups... Mexico doesn´t care or do anything until it is way too late, or after there is just so much pressure that they know it isn´t going away until they show some sort of an effort.

So here goes the pathetic-sympathetic effort of the Mexican government. Now don´t be surprised if the illegal logging now moves at a faster pace, remember this is the land of corruption and at least half of those soldiers from poor families who will be living in the forests of Mexico for the next one hundred days will surely take a gift or two from these (should we say "madera cartels") people to keep their furniture and housing businesses thriving. (assholes!)

"Domingo...."
Finally a quiet one here (for a change)... some of us are feliz, but unfortunately in Chihuahua it is starting to look like the Cuidad Juarez murderers are moving to their cuidad. The 16th murder of a young woman occurred again this weekend, so "as usual" the police are useless and letting these atrocities continue. And the AFI (Federal Agency of Investigation) is heavily under heat for killing a street vendor in the Zocalo during a pirate DVD and VHS raid yesterday.... this brings a total of more than 300 ongoing investigations into the "above the law" AFI tactics - getting as scary as the PGR!

On a happier note! Carlos Slim´s TELMEX monopoly is about to come to an end. Mexico has one of the highest charges for long distance telephone service in the world! Strange, for one of the poorer countries to have this kind of rip-off - no? Anyway, Mexico has opened the doors for for companies to come into Mexico now - this really happened back in 1997, but the companies that have tried to offer service in Mexico are tied to Telmex´s communication lines and have to pay big bucks to Telmex to provide long distance service to their own customers.

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend, you hard working (drinking and playing...) people up there in the US.

"¡No agua!"
Summer must be here.... it is very hot (81° F) and there is no water in our neighborhood... and the river is only 500 yards away! It is only the beginning - welcome to Mexico, amigo!

"8 days later..."
Not too busy in Flojolandia (land of the lazy) - not alot new happening - same old caca......... corruption, lies, banks blowing up... that drunken egomaniac Bush falling off his bike (hmmmm, that´s a new one!) Anyway, hope to have something new to blog about soon - I´m getting aborrido!

See, even the Popo is snoozing... Popocatépetl Volcano

Dom 16 de Mayo, 05:15:26 PM
"Domingo..."
............a quiet (boring) day en el rancho, no UFO sightings, no new corruption scams, Fox is still Presidente, the PRI still thinks they are in charge (....maybe they are???) and "as usual" important playoff basketball games are not shown on the latin TV stations when they interfere with a local soccer game - even ESPN Español didn´t find it important enough to show the Lakers vs Spurs game last night!

"TEPITO"
...for some reason alot of the newcomers to these blogs get here by using the "keyword" search for Tepito... why, how....? (dunno) but, bienvenidos anyway. So just so the "Tepito" searchers don´t get bored or angered by our lack of Tepito information, here are two links from today´s San Diego Online news: Always on the Run.... Indigenous in Tepito and The Growing Following of Santa Muerte (Saint Death).

...a dangerous place.

"1980 Extradition Treaty with Mexico"
...okay, quick history lesson - because this stupidity needs to be rightened. You will notice recently that the US has fallen to the pressure lately and put stays of execution against certain Mexican-born criminals, as well as deporting some. But Mexico is still not returning such favors........... ¿porque?

The Mexican courts say ¨Life in prison" is cruel and unusual punishment (so lets put them all to death...), so they will not return any fugitives for capital punishment crimes unless the US gives them a certain amount of years and not "life" - to these hispanic criminals that escape to that Mexico better known as the "Free Haven", while the victims families sit and wait hoping to bring these murderers to justice and vindication for their loved ones.

Today is another holiday - the last for awhile, hopefully...(for most people...) "Dia de la Madre" (Mother´s Day)... here is a great link to how deep the tradition goes here in Mexico.  LA TIMES

Dom 9 de Mayo, 03:23:06 PM
"Mothers Day"
...not until manana here, in Mexico they go by date - not convenience!

Mie 5 de Mayo, 01:11:17 PM
"Cinco de Mayo"
...or as the locos call it - "drinko de Mayo"... a very Gringo holiday for selling booze and drinking, here in Mexico it goes almost completely unnoticed. May 1st is a celebrated holiday, as is May 3rd (Roja Cruz) which most laborers got the day off and did their partying.

Funny how this day has become a bigger celebration with Americans, than with Mexicans (except US Mexicans...), anyway feliz cinco de Mayo!

Dom 2 de Mayo, 05:57:33 PM
"Juniors..."
What are "juniors" you might ask? These are the little rich kids (spoiled brats) of Mexico´s wealthy, "old money", political families throughout Mexico. These kids are bored little punks! They think they are supermen and above any laws - because they are protected by mommy or daddy who have connections to get them out of trouble. They look down on all working people (treat indigeonous like slaves) and they think the town is theirs. They drive around in nice cars, are put through private schools, and usually have servants. Unfortunately this is one of the great dividers of Mexico - the separation of its own culture. These kids grow up with this attitude and unless somebody scares the shit out of them (causing them to see the real world) they will live their entire life as assholes, getting into trouble and always being rescued by mommy or daddy (and their money and connections).

These punks don´t realize that we also look down our noses at them as well with great distain, the only difference is that "we" (the basic person) cannot do anything about these jerks and if confronted with problems with them, it is best to just turn the other cheek (or move). This problem has been plaguing Mexico (and yes these people are a plague!) throughout Mexico´s existance and unfortunately is one of the main things that keeps this country down and unable to unite.

Unfortunately, I live in one of these small towns ruled by the juniors and their political families... and the only satisfaction I can get is to know that soon I will be moving on and these little shits will still be here - ruling San Juan del Rio for the rest of their wretched little lives. Never to grow and never to experience the "real" world and what humanity has to offer.

Sab 1 de Mayo, 01:41:23 PM
¡May Day!
....celebrations (Cuba, Bolivia...).... demonstrations (Berlin, Jakarta, Turkey...) ....humilations (US - Bush "fake distain" for torture fotos).

At least there is still hope in la Baja! A Hospital in Ensenada has been blessed by the image of the Virgin de Guadalupe - beamed onto a wall from a halogen light source. fotos

The Virgin seems to appear every once in awhile throughout Mexico, while the belief in miracles is up to the individual, at least these aren´t paid political religious icons - like Mexico and its obsession with the Pope......... they are trying to get the poor guy to come back again this year! (and the Catholic Church will most likely prevail with mucho Pope $$$$)

...of course, you know about 80% of the Mexican population will hate me for saying this!

Vie 30 de Abr, 05:21:47 PM
I´m supposed to be in Mexico City!
....so what am I still doing on the rancho?!! We all know that Mexico City is sinking.... they say about 30 feet this last century, and that before the Spanyards drained Lake Texcoco it was a beautiful paradise of floating gardens (during the days of the Aztecs) now the dried/up lake bed has too many people dwelling upon it and in some places the city is sinking a foot a year!

The new "Integrity Scorecard" is out on Mexico - have you seen it? (not much we already didn´t realize living down here...), privatization, freedom of the media, law enforcement, justice, all very weak...

But why am I talking about this stuff, who knows..............? I´m supposed to be at "La Jardines" (the gardens) in Coyoacan.

Missed my ride, fell off the path...... "gracias dios"!
