We are back......... So is the world still messed up? (of course....) What
is it with "manifestations" in Mexico? I understand that during Santa
Semana (the Holy Week) that they are almost an everyday occurrance. But come
on! Yesterday there were still demonstrations of hundreds of people screwing
up traffic in Mexico City. Don´t these people have something better to
do? Is somebody paying them to do this? .........nothing ever gets accomplished
because of these manifestations, all they do is mess up traffic and inconvenience
the rest of us. I am back home, but I´m sure there is another useless demonstration
going on today - you know.... "Manifestation del Viernes" - hey, why
not.... these people have nothing
better to do.
In case you haven´t heard... there is a website showing hundreds of pictures of the US war dead from George Bush´s personal war on Irak. The Pentagon (and Georgie) don´t want Americans to see these - bad for the propaganda for Pro-War (and the re-election 2004 campaign).
Here is the link, it is
slow loading...... http://www.thememoryhole.org/war/coffin_photos/
the
question is (still) these Americans died why? (that is why they
don´t want you to view these kind of things...)
More rantings later, we are back - for good!

Palm Sunday - "The Passion...." Getting ready for Mel Gibson´s
new flick, plan to see it in Mexico City this weekend - I wonder if it will
be subtitled or translated? .....If Mel uses the Spanish translators that Disney
uses, expect to hear Jesus speaking "Chilango"!

Time for the holidays to begin... here in Mexico everything will be shutting
down by the end of the week as everybody goes on holiday for Santa
Semana "Holy Week" - so for two weeks don´t try to
get too much done in Mexico, it will be a fruitless effort. Between the 2nd
of April until about mid-May (after Mother´s Day... which lasts a week!)
there will be more time off than time at work for Mexico, so hang in there!
...we will be back!

So what is all the fuss? Don´t you think everybody is going a bit
overboard on "nothing" with these British "Cavers"? Yeah,
so of them are British Military... they weren´t here under and sort of
British Secret Mission - they were most likely hobbyists. Mexico
gets lots of divers from around the world, I´m sure there are a few that
are in some military - but are they here to spy on Mexico....... give me a
break! Israel might have started WW III (at least from my viewpoint) so this
is turning into something as big as that over here - porque?
Other "Cavers" from other countries support these British cavers (who have now been detained and missed their flights back to the UK), Mexico acts as if it is a terrible slap in the face (and embarrassment), and the Cuban newspapers are saying "Spies, they are all spies..." - give me a freakin´break. Can we just get on with the REAL world problems.... or at least the real problems here in Mexico.
...i.e. Juarez murders, who shot the PRI videos, will Fox´s wife run for president, etc. Let the British go home - forget about it! I´d really like to know why this became big news at all - I mean "March Madness" is more important than this!
On a lighter note.... the Cavers dictionary can be fun reading (caving is an adrenalin induced addiction, just like rock climbing, white water rafting, whatever.... not to steal Mexico´s uranium supply!

Who killed Colosio... yes it has been 10 years! I remember working in
my office in Garden Grove, CA when I heard about the assination - US TV didn´t
pay alot of attention to what happened in Tijuana. So many theories, the gun
doesn´t exist, nor the bullets... and the poor soul who is in jail for
the murder is probably an innocent, while the real killer or killers are 6
feet under somewhere so their tales cannot be told. If Donaldo
Colosio had lived, do you think we would have Fox for President now? ..............doubt
it.
Just last week the Governor of Oaxaco was ambushed and shot (but survived) ....another possible candidate for Mexico´s next Presidential Election. You see down here you don´t need to spend millions on dirty campaign ads on TV to destroy the other candidate, you just make then go away. Expect alot more to happen before the campaigns officially start... just like the videos that have been released in D.F. over the past couple weeks.
Politics = dirt (major dirt)

Winter is over...!!! it has been for a week here (temps in the 80´s...),
but this morning our tortoise awoke from its hibernation in
a bag of soil we had on our chiquito (small) patio. Now it is wrecking havoc
with the rest of our plants, soooooooo it is time to take it down by the rio
and let it free. About 3 months ago our dog brought
it to us as a juguete (toy). We laid it on top of a bag of soil until later
in the day to return it to the rio.... but in minutes it had burrowed into
the bag of soil, so we have let it sleep undisturbed these past few months.

Mèxico´s daily bread... well the good guys and the bad guys
(if you can tell them apart) are exposing each others blunders to the world
again... great illegal videotaping from the bar in Vegas of one of Mexico City´s
finest. Domingo Mexico City´s Mayor Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador vows
to tell all.... Mel Gibson´s flick just
got an 18 and over rating here.....remember, we are a Catholic country. The
annual brujo convention ended in Catemaco with no reported problems as people
from around the world payed for the services of witches - capitalism is alive!
Two cousins in Jalisco dueled it out over water rights in a field -both died,
they were 70 and 85 years old respectively... sounds like a possible tv movie?
Finally... a serious and sorrowful note, a new murder in Cuidad Juarez. Another young woman´s body has been found ... that brings the total to 258 ....or 407 depending on who you ask - still too many to go unsolved in my opinion_____ at this rate, blind justice will probably give a deadly drug lord (or Sinaloa tomato farmer...) his freedom on Sabado.

Protect your future, and the future of the internet! VeriSign must be stopped
from becoming a monopoly in the registration and administration of internet
domains. Disney shareholders are trying to protect their interests by removing
Eisner, now it is time to stop the illegal practices of VeriSign - the withholding
of domains for higher profits, stealing domains from legal owners (I lost 2
domains to these jerks last year!).
Sign the petition to recall Verisign now. https://www.recallverisign.com
The internet is being held for ransom!
Free our public domains!

The quality behind the culture... It has been a helluva 2 weeks here, not
only is it getting HOT (weather-wise), but I have now gone through 2 brand
new computers! You pay your money, you specifically ask for certain products,
and what do you get - BS. Sorry, that is unavailable here... so after the first
sub-par machine goes down in 2 weeks they run out and get the chit I actually
asked for a month ago.
Sooooo, now we are reloading another new computer - and this better be the freakin´ last time. The (unfortunate) thing here lays in the culture... you see it everywhere in Mexico, people do not make the effort - period.
Customer Service is a rarity which Mexico has to still learn.
