"When the Legend becomes Fact..." Print the Legend! Mexico is getting tired of waiting for the courts to decide who our next President will be... just like the fraud in the Gore vs Bush elections in the US a few years back, .....yes there was fraud, yes there was deception and neither candidate had (has) the heuvos to make a good president. Same thing here, fraud, deception and neither candidate has what it takes to help Mexico out of it's financial hole. On one side we have a candidate that will put the country in turmoil and make the peso fall to deep depths - while the other is a stooge of "big business" (like Curly of the Three Stooges...). So this stooge will keep Mexico's economy from falling, probably won't help us out of financial trouble during his 6 year reign, but that is politics!

But the PAN is afraid that a recount could prove fatal to their victory... so August 1st they are starting a TV barrage of their own propaganda, which includes getting big business to chip in to pay alot of the expenses for commercials, the manufacturer white wristbands and ribbons to spread throughout Mexico as a sort of a solidarity - all of this just before the 7 member court decides if there will be any sort of recount and if fraud was definitely involved on August 6th. Here in our little PANcito run pueblo they removed the PAN ballots from the IFE election headquarters a couple days ago (shhhhhhhhh_____) and taked them to Mexico City. Of course, all of the PRD ballots were left behind (unguarded) and are probably now missing.... this is the way politics works here (and in most of the democratic world).

So congrats to the PANistas for pulling off a royal scam, but also for saving Mexico from plunging deeper into the depths of poverty (hopefully).

But, I could be wrong................

"Thanks Israel..." If it wasn't for you guys we would be still sitting here wondering who is going to be the next President of Mexico. Instead we get to see how your government handles things... mil gracias! Of course we know that you people don't get involved in massacres... you learned your lesson with the Nazi's right? .....at least we thought you did? Tell me please, what did this little Lebanese boy ever do to you? He could have grown up to be a person who might help the world with his knowledge or compassion, maybe even be a peacemaker... but now if he does get the chance to grow up, by the time he becomes a teenager he will probably enlist with some terrorist organization to take you down! Congratulations!

Makes all of the dangerous and underhanded things going on with the government here recently quite pleasant and calming...... Gracias amigos! For helping to show that the US isn't the only LAMF's out there raping, maiming and killing for the good of their country - or so goes the "fear propaganda" your government generates to it's people - an exact blueprint of the George Bush policy?

How the capture of 3 soldiers gives you the right to destroy an entire country is beyond me? If those 3 soldiers are still alive, do you think they would be happy about all of the people who have died (300 at least count) because of them?

Rant over.... back to the ballot totals and the future of Mexico!

Viva México!!!

"Where does Mexico's money go...?" Well, we know it doesn't go to help the millions of poor peopel in this country... actually "believe it or not" almost 60 million dollars (600,000,000.00 pesos) goes to the Vatican - perhaps for Pope Mobile maintenance? Mexico is in the Top Ten donating countries, coming it at a strong Number 9 - no wonder there are so many Catholic Cardinals in this country! Yes, the good old payola game is alive and well in the Catholic church!

"Still No Real Winner..." Around the world lazy journalist (too freakin' lazy to really check the facts because they have a deadline to meet...) and politically incorrect heads of nations (Bush among them) believe that the PAN party's candidate has won. Unfortunately this consensus will probably remain even after the courts are done with their decision - mainly because evidence has already been destroyed to ensure that big business stays in control and the little people continue to suffer.

There are some great stories, alot of truth's that you won't see or hear from most newspapers and television... so instead of going into any details, read the story at this link - whether you believe totally what is said in this report, you should at least be open to the fact that at least half of the information is the truth. Unless of course you are one of the few that believe that the last 2 US elections were legit.

Anyway, read and learn... (especially you flojo journalists!) The Narco News Bulletin

"OOPS..." No Weiner (winner), Mexico runs out of ballots! Stay tuned............

"First México, later the world..." So goes the platform of what may become the "new" Mexico starting in 2007. In three days we will find out if Mexico heads to the left (PRD) or continues to be a puppet of the US (PANcito). The PRI guy with the cheesy mustache is already out of the running... he has too many skeletons and too much money anyway, No matter who wins, unfortunately neither one has the slightest idea of how to deal with foreign policy issues - but I do agree with one item... Fix Mexico!!! (she needs all the help she can get!)

Not happy with the US Fish & Wildlife Service lately, once again they don't think it is necessary to protect the Flat-tailed Horned Lizard from getting squished by off-road recreational vehicles or having their underground burros destroyed in the southern parts of the Sonora Desert (Arizona, California and Baja California). When I was young I had a few horned lizards over the years with my menagerie of snakes and lizards (an avid herpetologist...) These guys are unusual prehistoric looking reptiles and are quite harmless... all we ask for is a little protection from the United States Endangered Species Act. You put up a sign and ticket any idiot who goes riding through the protected areas, just like they should be doing for more of the desert flora and fauna.

Read the rules of the act here (there is more than one reason to protect the horned lizard, so what is your sorry excuse Fish & Wildlife Service!?!).

"Asteroid 2004 XP14, headed for a fly by..." Hope so........ the asteroid has been classified as a “Potentially Hazardous Asteroid” by the Minor Planet Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts... but don't worry too much, we currently have 783 potentially hazardous asteroids out there aiming for us. 2004 XP14 is expected to pass by us here in Mexico around 11.25pm on Sunday, July 2nd - can't wait!

Also on the good news front.... AeroCalifornia is going to be allowed to start flying again!!! Limited flights at first, but its a start... mi amigos in the Baja - especially La Paz have been devastated by the grounding. Fishermen are starving, hotels have been empty, leaving alot of people without jobs or having their hours cut way back. Things will hopefully start looking up again on the Sea of Cortez, the most amazing place on earth!

"Mexico's best candidate will not be there when the votes are counted..." Suppose Mexico had a choice of an honest, grounded candidate of the people and for the people, one who wasn't pushing the political bs down the people's throats and catering to the business sector... Just suppose............. We know it won't happen, but for awhile there was a ray of hope by the name of Patricia Mercado. A feminist /activist and possibly a more liberal candidate that Mexico's primier quasi-leftist, Lopez Obrador. She is pro-abortion, for the legalization of marijuana, for same sex marriages, and definitely for the people and what should be their rights. Of course this rubs the church wrong and the so-called Obrador leftists (the most leftist candidate usually wins in Mexico) would never discuss topics like these because they don't want to alienate the corporate vote or the Catholic church.

It will probably be a long time before Mexico allows a feminist President, let alone a modern down to earth candidate that fights for real causes.

"GOAAAAALLL..." Goodbye Iran.........

"060606..." I wonder how many Damian's were born today? One of Mexico's Damian's (though we may never know exactly who..... looks like he is trying to foil a rival candidate by having one of Mexico City's original lakes (not man made) in Chapultepec Park out of the blue collapse and the entire lake drained overnight as thousand's of fish died. We don't mean little guppies either, these fish were big, thriving for years in Lake Chapultepec on burritos, tacos and any other food stuffs that families have tossed into the lake for generations - now (mostly) all dead.... unfortunately the locals were a little to late in reacting to the possible profits from mass quantities of fish tacos! (though I'll bet there are a few street carts selling some tangy pescado tacos out there somewhere...)

to the 17% increase in money being sent back to México by legal and illegal Mexicans working in the US. So does this help or hurt the American economy? Probably doesn't hurt, more productivity, money is being spent by Mexican's while they live and work up there, plus during the Christmas season the legal (documented) laborers spend alot on presents to bring back to México. Not cheap junk either... stereos, TV's, motorcycles - the quality items that are too freakin' expensive to buy down here!

We have known people who go to Larado, Texas (an 8 hour drive from here) and stop in the local Best Buy - purchase 2 or 3 laptops or digital cameras, come back down here and sell them for twice what they paid and end up getting a free vacation, and laptop or camera out of the deal as well - plus the quality is much better and electronics are more advanced than what is currently available in Mexico (we are always about a year behind down here... that goes for American TV programs too).

The question is: Will México always lag behind the rest of North America or will they technecically catch up someday? And if México does catch up will all the good techies flee México to the US and other countries for the real paying jobs? (....as Méxican culture dictates)

Gonna be an interesting couple of years, but alot depends on the Presidential elections next month and of course how México advances in the World Cup too.

"Let's Have Some Futbol..." One of the most important times of this 2006 year is almost upon us here in Mexico, ......no not the Presidential Elections - it's the FIFA World Cup! In about 2 weeks futbol (soccer) fans (almost all of Mexico) will be cheering for their currently 6th Ranked Team! Mercados around Mexico have been hocking an amazing array of trinkets for the occasion. From pacifiers and baby bibs to special bottles of Coke plastisized completely in Red, White and Green colors (no logos... just that classic coke bottle shape).

So Mexico's first opponent will be Iran - hope they kick those Iranian's butts! The 3 candidates for Mexico's Presidency are worried that if Mexico progresses up the FIFA World Cup ranks that nobody will care much about the upcoming election and with June being the prime campaign month, since Soccer is number one in the hearts of Mexico's countrymen - the National sport!

Well, good luck to the flip flopping candidates, they are going to need it. You think George Bush is useless, Mexico's choices are not too good mi amigos... kinda glad I can't vote here - also kind of glad I wasn't in the US during either of Bush's elections, takes away any responsibility I might have for how the government and the conservative right fuct things up.
