"A spammer gets his....." Russia's
largest spammer was found beaten to death in his apartment today - everybody
in Russia knew who he was and since there are no laws against spamming you more
or less had to put up with it. Not worthy of a name here in this blog, but he
did have an arrogant balsy saying "spamming is what email is for" -
and death to spammers is
something he should have taken to heart. One less piece of spam in my mail box
now...............

"Been awhile since we blogged....." We
have been at this for just over two years now and I am starting to believe
the reports that it just gets harder and harder to keep up with the blogging.
In the early days I would write every day or two, now I am down to about once
a week... could it be I am so numbed about the BS that is going on in the world
that I don't feel the need to bother expressing myself - or could be I am concentrating
on trying to get out of this pueblo for health (sanity) reasons by going in
so many directions trying to find the exit door.
As usual politics and brainlessness are destroying our surroundings here. A couple days ago the neighbor decided to kill a beautiful old tree that was about 60 feet tall on the edge of his property, why....? Because he is in the municipal and can do whatever he wants...
Today mother nature gave the last rites...
A few weeks ago a dog was found killed in our rio (a tiny stream at the moment), one of the surviving puppies laid on top of the mother for 2 days before it could be coaxed away and is now a happy pup growing and doing fine.
This catholic nation talks about the joys of life and dedication to the family... what they don't talk about is their ignorance as polluters, destroyers of habitat and torture and mistreatment of all forms of animal life.
No third world excuses please!

"When granny's away....." All
of her grandchildren go to her casa with their amigos, hire a hooker and party
like your basic teenage "juniors"... with zero respect to
the neighborhood they are invading or the casa of their abuelito (granny).
Midnight.... six "juniors" and one girl walk into the casa
across the calle from ours... 30 minutes later she comes out smoking a cigarette
and the 16 year olds all come out in smiles!
What makes this little tidbit of Mexican culture so interesting (to me...) is that the next morning guess who comes over, cleans the house, picks up the beer bottles on the front lawn and makes sure everything is back to normal before granny gets back ................Mom. So this bit of teenage sexual behavior is condoned by their madre, whom by the way has an excellent (high standing executive) position at the local IMMS hospital - so she isn't a dummy... at least I didn't used to think so_____
* juniors - are the spoiled kids living off of the family money, no need to work, everything is just given to them... the new generation of elitist small-brained rancheros in the town which we call home (for the time being...).

"Oblivious US idiotas continue to try and
destroy cultures around the world..." Jesse
Jackson (who has always been an idiot), other Black groups and Bush's neanderthals
in Washington know nothing of the history or the good behind the Mexican Cuban
character Memin
Penguin and are now calling the release of a set of stamps commemorating
the classic cartoon as racist! - when they know very little about the cartoon,
it's cultural aspects and the values it educates to Mexican children. Even
some lame hispanic groups in the US, who think they are Mexican's but are no
more Mexican than I am... think the poor Cuban boy Memin is depicted to be
racist and the new postage stamps should be pulled. These groups have the same
unintelligent attitude that the hispanic groups of the 60's did that got Mexico's
beloved Speedy Gonzales pulled from the airwaves in the US.
Look, you idiotas have already messed some of the cultures in the middle east and the Big Brother and Mtv shows don't help and are part of this destruction also. There are millions of other things that need attention right in your own backyard, so listen "the entire world does not want to be American" and I think alot of people don't feel the US should be tramping on other people's cultures... I'd like to hear one good reason why they do this too.
Bushcito??? Jesse (I want to be the most famous black man in history) Jackson????
Open your eyes and take care of racism in the US first!

"Touristas have come to town..." This
week is the San Juan fair, supposedly one of the most popular fairs in Mèxico.
Why you ask...? Hell if I know............... all I can say is I won't be there.
So they just picked up a 911 terror suspect in beautiful Todos Santos, a quiet little town just above Cabo San Lucas in Baja, with artists, surfers, Americans, Canadians and now a terrorist (British citizen...)... they had to hold him at the firestation until Mexico's elite could get over there and grab him.
Next think you know the city of Todos will be getting a Costco - growing up down there, eh Brad?

"Red Alert..." No
not a terror alert.... well, maybe not unless you are a Zapatista. Whatever
is up the Commander Marcos and his soldiers have headed for the hills and jungles
of Chiapas... stay tuned to
see who, what and why........

"Ice pick found...?" So,
supposedly the legendary modified (shortened) ice pick that was used to kill Leon
Trotsky in 1940 in Coyoacan has surfaced. The daughter of the Russian Secret
Service Agent that stole it from the Mexican police for posterity sake now
wants money for it. The grandson of Trotsky who still lives in Mexico City
would like to have it for the Trotsky museum here and would even provide the
DNA needed to authenticate the weapon, but wants the ice pick to be donated
to the museum. (seems like a fair request...)
Sounds like a case of father like daughter.... the father steals evidence and a piece of history, now the daughter expects payment (a ransom) for the stolen item... isn't she an accomplice to theft? Ana Alicia Salas you need to get your shit together - you are fencing stolen goods.

"Gas rip-offs via Mèxico's monopoly..." PEMEX,
the controlling gas supplier and largest polluter in Mèxico seems to
be not only destroying the environment and hurting the health of the Mexican
people, but now we find that they sell their gas knowingly that it will be
cut with additives, solvents and used motor oil........... adding to their
already huge profits while destroying most cars in Mèxico. In the 1970's
we used to have to add octane boosters to our gas we purchased in Mèxico
because their was alot of water in Pemex's gas that would rust our motors and
gas tanks if we didn't use the octane boosters to burn up the crap in their
gas. I don't know what can be done to stop the damage from the contaminated
gas that I'm sure I have purchased in the past and will unknowningly be purchasing
in the future.
As gas prices rise................

"Lagunilla... the magic is fading......." Tucked
away in the "locals only" area of Tepito is a swapmeet of
sorts, that every Sunday would bring the discovery of exciting treasures and
sometimes great adventures. Unique original items to extremely rare antiques,
artifacts and what not... this place was always a great place to explore and
a bit dangerous as well, especially to foreigners. Unfortunately over the past
year the uniqueness and the quality of items has deteriorated greatly. Sellers
are now asking outrageous prices for antiguas, handmade products have disappeared
and been replaced by the Chinese mass produced crap - the artesanos are moving
on and the entire Lagunilla marketplace seems to be moving in a different direction
- clothes and shoes - just like every other marketplace in México.
I think last Sunday was my last trip to Lagunilla, it is no longer exciting... it is no longer unique... and the prices are higher than the shops in México City's zocalo area. Fortunately, there is still one fun and unique destination available in D.F. - the weekend artesanos market in Coyoacan... the ambience, colors and flavors haven't been destroyed by Chinese products or outrageous pricing. A place where travelers converge and share in México's rich culture and love of life.

"Oaxaca artists quit..." The
city of Oaxaca and its political favors have turned what was supposed to be
a beautification project in the town square into a pilfering and destruction
nightmare. The toppling of beautiful century old laurel trees, the disappearance
of historic church doors, benches and street lamps (most likely to be sold
to collectors). The original artists have bailed on the project because the
city and the incompetents they hired are making a huge mess of the project
and destroying the town's beautiful and historic image.
Will we never learn...?
