Art of Baja California

Baja Artist Napoleon

Just south of Todos Santos in the small town of Pescadero lives a kind-heartedl and imaginative local artist who goes by the name of Napoleon. His work can be seen all around Pescadero and along the highway in Todos Santos.

Napoleon uses cement, earth, other natural elements and debris he finds around town or on his journeys. Spending his entire life in Pescadero, he created art as a child and was always considered the outcast. He is known around town as "loco", a name which he uses with great honor.

Though he has never personally experienced great art, nor can he read or write very well Napoleon is quite a gifted person. If you visit him be sure to bring some food, a blanket or anything else you might want to donate... he will be very appreciative.
